Griffith’s Gnat Midge Dry Fly: A classic midge dry fly created by George Griffith, co-founder of Trout Unlimited, and long used to imitate adult midges and midge clusters on the water
Effective Midge Imitation: Accurately represents adult midges and clusters of small dark insects that trout feed on throughout the season, especially during midge activity
Premium Traditional Construction: Hand-tied with a peacock herl body and palmered grizzly hackle for a realistic silhouette and reliable flotation
Versatile All-Season Dry Fly: Performs well on freestone rivers, tailwaters, spring creeks, and stillwaters throughout the year; highly effective for brown, rainbow, and brook trout
Reliable Searching Pattern: A simple, time-tested fly that works well as both a hatch matcher and a general searching pattern when trout are feeding on small insects in the surface film
