How to Use

Secure the oyster: Hold the oyster firmly with a towel or glove to protect your hand.

Locate the hinge: Identify the hinge of the oyster, which is the point where the two shells meet and are joined together.

Insert the blade: Position the tip of the Frenchman oyster shucker near the hinge of the oyster. Apply gentle pressure and wiggle the blade into the hinge until it penetrates the shell.

Twist and leverage: Once the blade is inserted, twist the handle of the shucker to pry the shell open. Use leverage to gradually separate the top and bottom shells.

Cut the muscle: Once the shell is partially open, slide the blade along the inside of the top shell to cut the muscle that attaches the oyster to the shell. This allows the top shell to be removed completely.

Detach the oyster: Carefully detach the oyster from the bottom shell by sliding the blade underneath it, being cautious not to spill any of the oyster's liquor.

Serve or prepare: After removing the oyster from the shell, you can serve it on the half shell or use it in various recipes, depending on your preference.
